Terms of service
Private crew rules for using Sunset Cycle.
These terms cover who can use the service, what the crew can share, how deletion works and what happens if the app is abused.
Agreement
By creating an account or joining a crew, you agree to these terms and to any posted rules inside the app. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Using the service
- Sunset Cycle is for private, invite-only crews.
- Sunset Cycle is intended for teens and adults aged 13 and over. If you are under 13, do not create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, review these terms with a parent or guardian and obtain their permission where required by local law.
- Use email/password sign-in and verify your email address when prompted. You can create a private crew or join one through an invitation.
- Each account belongs to one crew at a time.
- You must not share invite links publicly or try to access another crew's content.
Content and safety
- Only share content you have the right to share.
- Keep meeting points to public landmarks and broad area descriptions.
- Do not post home addresses, live tracking details or other sensitive location data.
- Do not use the service for harassment, spam, illegal activity or dangerous conduct.
- Sunset Cycle is not an emergency service and does not replace common-sense ride planning.
In the mobile app, hold another member's message for Report or Block, or use Block in Crew. If that control is unavailable, email support@sunsetcycle.co.uk with the crew name, date and a brief description. Do not attach private content unless asked.
User content
You keep ownership of your own content. You give Sunset Cycle a limited licence to host, store, display and process that content only to operate the service, including private crew feeds and ride voting. We may remove content or restrict access where reasonably necessary for safety, security, legal compliance or these terms.
Deletion and termination
You can start deletion from MY SC → Delete account in the mobile app or through the account-deletion page. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, threaten crew safety, misuse invitations or attack the service.
Disclaimers
Weather, sunset times, map data, approved-spot status and AI-assisted summaries are planning aids, not guarantees or professional advice. Check your bicycle, lights, route, weather and road conditions, follow the Highway Code and use your own judgement. Home-safe status is not emergency monitoring. In an emergency, call 999 or 112 in the UK.
Availability and third-party services
Sunset Cycle relies on Clerk, Supabase, Vercel, OpenStreetMap services, Open-Meteo and configured AI providers. We may add, change, suspend or remove features and do not promise uninterrupted access. External links and services have their own terms.
Liability and consumer rights
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence, or affects mandatory consumer rights. Subject to that, we are not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss, decisions made from a forecast or suggestion, another member's conduct, or an unavailable external service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales unless local consumer law requires a different approach.
